What's Your Favorite Color?

It’s a black and white world out there when it comes to used cars and it’s not easy being green. At least that’s what CarMax, the nation's largest retailer of used cars, would have us believe when it comes to their monthly survey of the most popular color searches.

Used car shoppers' top five color choices for online searches in February were:

1. Black 36%
2. White 17%
3. Blue 11%
4. Red 10%
5. Silver 9%

Green, which is my favorite color for cars, comes in at 4% and yellow rightly comes in at 2%. (I wonder what the other 11% were represented by? Mauve? Fuchsia? Pink? Purple?)

Yet, what has me stumped is black is almost as popular as white, blue and red combined. Maybe it’s a regional thing, but I just don’t see that many more black cars around New England.
