A New Performance Measurement for Your Used Car?

Friday September 12, 2008

There’s a new element you can advertise when selling your used car: its “carfun footprint.” It’s a mixture of your car’s fun level and its green level. It’s all thanks to a cute little website put together by Mini: www.carfunfootprint.com.

The site determines your used car’s fun level based on a survey of car owners. It then determines your car’s environmental score based on EPA data. It all results in your car’s carfunfootprint.

Not every car is on the list, such as my 2008 Mazda5, which I think is fun and fairly fuel efficient. Nor is the über-fun-to-drive car, the Audi R8. No matter what car you dial up, there’s a commercial for Mini at the end.

And, not surprisingly, the car with the best ranking is the Mini Cooper hardtop. It ranks 1st out of 197 vehicles.

So, what’s your car’s carfunfootprint? Share it with the world by posting a comment below.

Cute little story. But my Caddie is way more fun than a 43, and my green score?? Don’t ask
