Avoid Buying a Certified Pre-Owned Saturn
The market for certified pre-owned Saturns collapsed with the announcement that the Penske Group is not going to buy Saturn. There is nobody backing Saturn right now and GM no longer wants anything to do with the brand.
That much was made clear to me in an email a couple weeks back from a GM agency asking that I clarify that Saturn certified pre-owned programs were no longer the responsibility of GM starting Oct. 1.
GM has to honor existing warranties for Saturns, obviously, but the problem is going forward your certified pre-owned Saturn is going to be serviced by a dealership that has no experience with Saturns and will have little interest in doing warranty work for you in a timely manner. If you're in the market for a Saturn certified pre-owned, don't make the purchase. The extra expense is not going to be worth the headaches and inconvenience.
However, because Saturn makes small cars and SUVs, you could probably get a great price on a used one right about now.

Will I have trouble with servicing my ‘05 Vue in the future?
Is your Vue currently being serviced at a Saturn dealership? Even if it is, the main problem you will have is establishing a new relationship with a different service department. Ask among your friends to find the best GM service department in your area and go to that dealership. GM mechanics will be able to service your car. The problem is finding an honest, reliable service department to work on your Vue.
