When I was younger, I used to think it would be cool to own a Ford Thunderbird, especially the 1978 model that came out just about the time I was getting my driver's license.
Fortunately I never bought one in the ensuing decades because it turns out to be the most stolen used Thunderbird of all the model years. With my luck, I would have left work one night and seen some broken glass where it used to be parked (and I worked in decent neighborhoods).
On a somewhat related topic, fortunately I never bought one of the newer used Ford Thunderbirds either. Because that would have meant my limited pool of automotive taste would have completely run dry. Interesting to note that nobody's apparently stealing the newer models in measurable numbers.
Feel free to hurl epithets at me in the comments section below.
