Before buying a certified pre-owned vehicle, check out this explanation of the certified pre-owned program offered by Volvo. This explains the warranty program for the manufacturer; how old the certified pre-owned vehicles are, and other benefits you can expect from the manufacturer's certified pre-owned program.

In December 2010, Volvo expanded its certified pre-owned program to include scheduled factory maintenance, which is a huge benefit for owners. It helps prevent problems down the road when the vehicle is out of warranty. Foreign-car maintenance can be expensive so this new program could be a strong reason to buy a certified pre-owned Volvo if you are considering a similar brand.

Each certified pre-owned Volvo must be the current model year or no more than 6 years old (e.g., in 2011, eligible model years are 2006-2011) with less than 80,000 miles.

  • Each Volvo must pass a 130-point inspection.
  • All certified pre-owned Volvos receives a warranty of up to six years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first, over the life of the car with no deductible. Check out the website for complete details.
  • This includes whatever mileage may be remaining under the Volvo's new car warranty.
  • Each certified pre-owned Volvo comes with a three-month subscription to Sirius/XM (assuming the vehicle has a satellite radio - additional equipment may need to be purchased).
  • Each certified pre-owned Volvo comes with a CarFax buyback guarantee. Basically, if a substantial title problem appears after you purchase the car, CarFax will buy it back because Volvo provides a clean title history from CarFax with every purchase.
  • IntelliChoice has ranked Volvo the top luxury certified pre-owned program for 2007 to 2010.
