Specialty owner forums are good long-term tools for marketing your used car. You may not have overnight success with them, but in time you will find like-minded individuals who will either buy your used car or help you sell it.

Specialty forums are not populated just by Porsche and Ferrari owners – far from it. Go to Google and search for any make and model and you’re probably going to find a forum. I discovered this Subaru Forrester owner forum. Heck, I don’t even own a Forester, but I ended up spending a lot of time on the site.

This is a good site to explain why forums can help you market your used car. When you first click on it, the home page has an ongoing link to eBay motors that shows Foresters for sale. This is of value to you because you can read other ads and see how similar owners are marketing their used cars.

These forums are also good because you’ll pick up lots of free advice on how to improve your used car for sale. For example, by following the discussions you’re going to learn what will make your car more popular. New after-market equipment could improve your used car’s selling price.

Just like every other marketing tool, be cautious when selling your car. Unfortunately there are plenty of people out there who want to separate you from your money. As with any transaction, act with your head and not your heart. Offers that sound too good to be true usually are.
